Trichoscan Analysis

Quantitative methods for the analysis of human hair growth.

Trichoscan Analysis

TrichoScan is an advance German patented technique to measure hair loss.  It is a software-based method to analyze human hair. The main purpose of this process is to identify the root cause problem (like deficiency, disorders, infections, etc.),  It calculates responses to treatment in patients with pattern alopecia, enables a precise follow up of hair densities(n/cm² ), and hair diameter (µm), hair growth rate (mm/day), or anagen/telogen ratio. For this purpose, digital images are taken from the scalp with a specially developed camera-optics system.

TrichoScan software is then used to automatically calculate important parameters of hair growth, such as hair density or thickness from the images. It can be used for studying AGA or other forms of diffuse hair loss, and it can be adopted to study the effect of drugs or laser treatment on Hypertrichosis.
